Oils4life lime organic essential oil originates from Mexico. Our Mexican limes are hand picked and the lime gently expressed, using steam distillation, to create a powerful lime explosion of aroma and taste, commonly used in both flavour and fragrance.
The oil is light yellow in colour and delivers a fresh, sweet limey aroma.
Lime organic essential oil is a member of the Rutaceae family and is also known as citrus medica var. acida, Mexican lime, West Indian lime, key lime, cold-pressed lime and sour lime.
Lime organic essential oil blends well with lavender, rosemary, clary sage, lemon, orange and grapefruit.
Distilled lime organic essential oil is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising. However cold-pressed lime is phototoxic.
